Back in February I packed up all of my belongings and put them in storage and then packed my bags for training. On February 13th I boarded a one-way flight to Dallas Fort Worth, TX for six weeks of training, little did I know it would go the way it went- read more about that here.

Fast forward to almost seven months later and myself along with 8,099 other flight attendants at my company will be furloughed as of October 3, 2020. In short, I am no longer employed by my company until the demand picks back up and callbacks are made and no one knows how long that may take. So what does that mean for me? I was already trying to figure out ways to start on a business idea I have had for some time. There is no time like the present! I am going to start my own clothing line– YES MY OWN CLOTHING LINE! A lot of you know I have been sewing some of my own clothes since 2014 and I have learned so much over the past 6.5 years. I have connected with another black female brand owner who is willing to be my project manager and assist me in starting my OWN brand and I am grateful.

The first line I will be working on and releasing for pre-orders will be an athletic line. I once sewed a workout set and it is still my all-time favorite but it was made from store-bought patterns. This time around I will be designing my OWN patterns, choosing my OWN fabrics, and using a production company so that I can share my work on a larger scale. I have always wanted to share my designs with others but sewing was something I started for myself and back then I knew I wanted to mainly sew for myself but it felt so good the few times I created for others.

I would love it if you would support me on this next chapter of my life! You can donate to my project fund here and I will keep you all updated here on my blog as things progress!
