Quarantime: How I have been spending my days…

I know this is a strange time we are living in. It feels like a worldwide: PAUSE. Honestly, I feel like it is something we needed and didn’t know. NOT the virus, just the pause. However, I understand that this time is busier for our essential workers and I am grateful for every one of them. Thank you if that is you. I too am an essential worker but so far I have not been called to fly. I want to share some things I have been doing to help me stay sane and make the most of these times.

#1. Moving my body: I originally started back on my Capri Curves workout and just switched to the at-home version since I don’t have access to a gym. I work hard for this body and Quarantine life cannot take that from me! Take the snacks away nooooow lol, jk, BALANCE! Traditional workouts are good but I wanted to add some variety so I have recently gotten back to doing yoga again as well. I am using my favorite flow series by Rachel Weathers found on the AloMoves app/site. It is called Practice Royalty 1, and because I’m a Queen it’s the perfect fit for me! I also try and get out once a week and get a little fresh air, but you know some people don’t know what six feet is so like they say I’m “safer at home”!

#2. Learning new skills: I decided to work on editing a video that I recorded back in January but hadn’t gotten around to recording the voice over for it. January y’all… but I guess I got nothing but time now so *shoulder shrug*! I am teaching myself how to use iMovie and I must say I am having fun with it. Additionally, I signed up for SkillShare and there are endless classes and workshops that you can take to learn new skills or improve upon current skills. So when you see me trying new things just know I’m bossin’ up. One of the first classes I will be taking is a course on How to Vlog! by Sara Dietschy. Click here for my code to sign up and boss up with me! The best part is you will get the first two months free!

#3. Blogging: I have more time to blog and it feels so good! Honestly, I feel like I am talking to all my friends at once… because I am duh! I truly enjoy writing and sharing with you all. I feel such a sense of connection when I can share and then have a dialogue with you all in the comments as well as over on Instagram. I began blogging in 2015 as ClassyfiedStyle.com and then relaunched this new blog in 2017. I wanted to share more than just my makes and I am grateful for all the support I have received! No worries though- if you are here for the makes my sewing machine is on the way and I will be sure to post my me-made Quarantine Collection 2020!

#4. Netflix/Hulu: I am sure all you cool cats and kittens have been taking this time to watch all those shows and movies friends have recommended/you can’t stop seeing memes about! So currently I have watched: Tiger King, You, and caught up on On My Block. Allow me to take this time to say Carole Baskin definitely murdered her husband, don’t at me. As for other shows, I have started but have not finished: The Witcher and Money Heist. And, I am currently watching: Ozark, I am on the beginning of season 2 so NO SPOILERS, please! I will find you if you ruin it for me. πŸ™‚ I am also watching Insecure- if you haven’t seen it I suggest you binge watch that NOW and get ready for Season 4 Episode 2 TOMORROW!

#5. Zooming/Connecting: By now we have all probably downloaded this app and have used it for some sort of meeting/gathering. I have used zoom before for work but as for this quarantine, I am using it to CONNECT! I have attended a 7-year-old birthday party (a former student). I also had a girls’ night where we did Taco Tuesday and all cooked together while on zoom and after we ate together we had a game night. For the game night, we utilized the House Party app and it was so much fun! I can’t help but think about how these times are forcing us to find other ways to connect. None of my friends live in the same city but we never thought to connect in the way we did before this whole pandemic struck. I am now using zoom to catch up with some of my previous students and that is filling my cup until it overflows because they are forever my babies!

#6. Reading/Games: I started a new book called Vibrate Higher Daily by Lalah Delia. Two other books that I highly recommend and will be rereading when I get my hands on them are The Four Agreements and The Alchemist. I have been watching Family Feud and playing the game on the Family Feud app as well. It is definitely my favorite game show and when this is all over I need Steve Harvey to make sure my family and I get on the show!

I would love to hear about all the things that you have been doing with your time lately. Maybe you have been just being still and doing nothing- trust me I have been doing that too. Drop a comment and let’s chat! <3
