I am in LOVE! I truly believe this fabric was made for me! I was gifted this amazing authentic African fabric from Ankara and Lace. Hurry my fabric is almost sold out and it’s on sale: here! If you miss it you can find similar options here and here. I felt so amazing as I stood on the side of a busy street snapping my own photos using my tripod. There were a few people who decided to beep at me and I took that as an empowering, “Aye, I see you Queen!”

For the cropped top, I used McCalls 7757 view C. I have made this top before here and it is one of my faves! Now for the skirt– I have changed up the game by adding this high split. I used Mimi G’s regal skirt tutorial and it’s definitely tried and true, you can purchase Mimi’s tutorial here!

How to add a split: I took the front piece and divided the total inches by 3 and then multiplied by 2 so that I would make a cut to have two front pieces. For example if your front piece measures 27in. divided by 3 would be 9in. You would have one front piece that is 9in. wide and another that is 18in. You will place the more narrow piece on the side that you would like to have your split on. You can decide on how high you would like your split then sew your two front pieces together.
