DIY Bomber Jacket Styled

Happy New Year lovely people! I am sew excited for 2019 and I just want more of the goodness that 2018 brought me! I just want to take a moment to reflect on some of the amazing things that took place. My chocolate baby/niece turned one and I made us some dope outfits here. I travelled a lot- LA, NY, JA, Cayman Island, Toronto, ATL, Miami, and DC. I blogged a few times about LA: food and things to do! I shared some things I have learned in my last 27 years of life that I actually need to read over myself! I was featured in a local magazine and Sewn Magazine. There was so much more goodness in 2018 but lets get to this bomber jacket!

I used Mimi G bomber jacket pattern: Simplicity 8222. I did not make any alterations to the pattern but the next time I make this I will shorten it to stop right below my waist because it was way longer than I would like for this type of jacket. I purchased pre-quilted fabric from Hobby Lobby when it was on sale and I used some black knit from my stash to line the inside! This was my FIRST time lining a garment and I was well pleased with it! I will also lengthen the arms because they are a tad short for my arms. Other than those changes I love how this pattern turned out! My jeans can be found here and you can use my code for 30% off here, Fashion Nova came through with the perfect fit! I got these shoes from Target last year!

I love the rolled sleeves look!
Details.

On this note- HAPPY NEW YEAR and I am excited to see what 2019 brings for us here on my blog!

Thank you love! I tried to search for a link for the shoes but I got them on clearance so I am guessing they are sold out for sure! And, yes the length is a little awkward for me- feels like its not quite a regular jacket and not quite a duster.

Trust me I understand about having a long list haha– I started this bomber jacket in like 2017…I was supposed to order extra red knit for the lining because I didn’t have enough and finally I decided to just use the black knit I had on hand!
