BARE Retreat Recap

This year we (the ladies of Curvy, Curly, Conscious) partnered with the ladies of Ave.51 to organize and produce our very first retreat! The retreat was held at a clothing optional resort and at first, we were all a bit worried about how this would impact the overall retreat but I must say it made the entire thing more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. The name of the retreat was BARE and that represented shedding all things that hold us bondage and baring it all in order to fully love our bodies and ourselves overall. The retreat included self-healing meditations, yoga, deep discussions and unique activities which were all paired with cocktails, of course!

During the retreat, women had the opportunity to participate in talent shows during dinner- which I actually did! Women had the access to all-inclusive water sports which included kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing on a Hobie cat, and more! I found time to go kayaking with my new boo, Leigh, and on a hobie cat with my CCC besties!

One of my favorite moments from this retreat was when we ventured over to the nude side as a whole group and there were about 55+ beautiful women of color in a large jacuzzi pool all at once embracing their curves and all that they love and dislike about their bodies in the presence of one another!  I also enjoyed watching the women participate in a body-love activity led by my bae Shelah Marie. I told her that when I see her again she has to lead me through that amazing activity. Hippie Heathen aka Tie also led a really dope yoga session that had all the ladies sweating and mastering the crow pose!
